NORF ‘24
Cada Casa partnered with NORF to provide an elegant and elevated platform for performers, musicians, models, designers, DJ’s, videographers, photographers, graphic designers and producers to not just see what the next level looks like, but also to invite them into the process in a structured mentorship program. NORF (Northwest Originated Rhythm & Fashion) is an annual event highlighting emerging designers and performers. Cada Casa was on the production team for this event in 2024, as well as its inception in 2023. This year, we were proud to showcase various elements of Cada Casa programming:
AIMS Content Crew:
Cada Casa partnered with Beaverton High’s capstone Graphic Productions class to provide graphic design, photography, and videography services for the event. Mentored by Sid Pai, this started with the creation the event’s mood board to set the tone of the evening. A field trip was organized to Industry where Art Director Armando Garcia led students through technical elements of shooting an event, culminating with an in-prompt portrait session for the students. Check out the reel that student Sam Sinclair made of the trip. Graphic design students created the sponsorship stop & repeat wall, model shirts, and tote bags. Finally, students shot the evening, collecting photographs and video of green carpet, performances, fashion show, and behind the scenes. Check out the lookbook below highlighting the student’s work.
Apparel Design Classes & Support:
Throughout the Winter Cada Casa Apparel Design students worked with mentors to create custom pieces to be featured at the show. Students went through the entire design process, from initial drawings, to creating templates, and garment construction while learning sewing fundamentals. Cada Casa instructor and performer OC also featured his first apparel line, integrating vinyl prints onto workwear.
DJ & Sound Support:
Beyond the Decks alumni were able to perform alongside their mentors to provide a curated music soundscape for the evening. In addition to DJing, Cada Casa provided the PA system, mixing of live performances, and front/back of house coordination for the event.
Screen Printing:
Attendees were invited to participate in the live printing of their own NORF tote bag, sponsored by the Apparel Design program and facilitated by student printers. Models and performers also received NORF shirts, designed by AIMS students and printed in-house.
Build Out Team:
Cada Casa was responsible for transforming Hotel Jupiter into the rich Urbano theme of the evening. This included a custom built Ivy Step & Repeat wall, Sponsor Step & Repeat, staging, lighting, and decorations.
