The Screen Printing Experience
This program brings a student (or small group of students) through the entire screen printing process, from concept to final print on a garment. Usually about 2-3 hours in total, scheduling based on the availability of instructor and student. Usually after school, or on the weekends.
This process includes:
Initial meeting about design requirements and general overview of the process (15 min, zoom or in person)
Design consulting, including sizing, tracing (if not done in illustrator), and template layout, resulting in the printing of an 11x17” acetate (30 min, best done in person)
One burned and prepped screen (can fit two designs), taped, centered, ink color mixing if necessary (15 min, in person)
Printing technique demonstration and practice (usually about 15 sample prints on paper, 20 minutes, in person)
Print monitoring, guidance and troubleshooting (5 minutes per print)
Final heat press (5 minutes per print)
